Clauses you can expect (these are subject to change) to find include:

1. A $2500 bond will be placed on a credit card of the renter prior to renting. Failure to provide an appropriate credit card will lead to cancellation of the rental.

2. Any deposits paid are refundable until 31 days prior to rental beginning, excluding the card payment processing fee (3.7%). Payment in full must be made prior to the rental beginning, for those wanting to pay via direct bank transfer, payment must be made at least 4 days prior to your rental commencing to allow time for transactions to process.

3. There is a 350 km/day mileage allowance for rentals less than 7 days long. This will attract a 0.60 NZD per km surcharge where the mileage allowance is exceeded.

4. You must hold an appropriate licence for the motorcycle you intend to rent, with an English translation available. New Zealand law requires a motorcycle endorsement on your licence. Further information about licence types and motorcycle restrictions can be found on the NZ Government transport website.

5. Motorcycle usage is restricted to public roads (tar-seal and metal). Usage is forbidden on the following roads:

   1. Skippers Road (Queenstown),

   2. the road to Macetown in the Queenstown area,

   3. Tasman Valley Road (Mt Cook),

   4. 90 Mile Beach (Northland),

   5. Nevis Canyon Road (Otago),

   6. Mavora Lakes Road (Queenstown),

   7. Rainbow Road (South Marlborough), or

   8. Waikaremoana Road (Whakatane District) unless prior permission is given in writing from the Owner.
